Studies have suggested that CBX5 was (i) involved in inflammatory response-related apoptosis genes, (ii) repressed apoptosis in renal cell carcinoma, (iii) interacted with p53 in several cancer cell lines, and (iv) and was expressed to a higher level with p53 loss in some cell lines (31, 54, –, 56). This evidence concerns the gene CBX5 and hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
