Fenofibrate is an activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha, involved in regulating lipid metabolism[92], thereby increasing FAO in T cells and reversing the suppression of T cells in the tumor microenvironment[93]. Liu et al.[94] discovered that both Treg cells and tumor cells in the tumor microenvironment could modify the lipid metabolism in T cells by increasing the expression of group IVA phospholipase A, a change that eventually results in T cell senescence.
