APOE and dementia: There was no obvious change in the strength of the relationship between walking pace and new-onset dementia after further adjustments for APOE ε4 dosage in model 2 (average vs. slow walking pace: HR, 0.60; 95%CI: 0.54–0.67; brisk vs. slow walking pace: HR, 0.59; 95%CI: 0.52–0.67; P for trend < 0.001) and dementia genetic risk scores in model 3 (average vs. slow walking pace: HR, 0.61; 95%CI: 0.54–0.68; brisk vs. slow walking pace: HR, 0.59; 95%CI: 0.52–0.67; P for trend < 0.001) (Table 2).
