In line with this, we reported previously that cAMP increase induced by the combination of the adenylate cyclase (AC) activator forskolin with the phosphodiesterase inhibitor rolipram (F/R) similar to the β-sympathomimetic isoprenaline abolished loss of desmosomal adhesion caused by pemphigus autoantibodies in vitro and in a passive immune transfer mouse model in vivo20. The gene discussed is ADCY1; the disease is pemphigus.
