FAAH and post-traumatic stress disorder: Based on preclinical and human experimental evidence that inhibition of FAAH (resulting in increased AEA levels) attenuates responses to stress and facilitates fear extinction (e.g., (Gunduz-Cinar et al., 2013a,b; Mayo et al., 2020a, 2020b)), a randomized, multi-center, double-blind phase II trial is currently evaluating the efficacy of the FAAH inhibitor, JZP150 (PF-04457845), in PTSD (NCT05178316).
