EZH2 possesses the catalytic ability to transfer a methyl group from S-adenosyl methionine to H3K27 in the PRC2 and represses the expression of target genes including a broad range of genes such as those in the regulation of cell cycle, DNA damage repair, cell fate and differentiation, senescence, apoptosis, and cancer (Cao et al., 2002). The gene discussed is EZH2; the disease is cancer.
