The first one, conducted in Colombian breast cancer patients with luminal subtypes reported a higher expression of the ERBB2 gene in patients with higher IA ancestry (>36%) (21), while the second one, conducted in a large population of Peruvian women, consistently reported a higher risk of developing HER2-positive tumors per every 10% increment in the IA ancestry (20). The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
