Corroborating with these findings, elevated serum inflammatory markers C-reactive protein, IL-6 and TNF-α correlate with high blood pressure and organ damage in hypertensive patients (Sung et al., 2003; Bautista et al., 2005; Navarro-González et al., 2008; Cheung et al., 2012) and predict the prospective development of hypertensive in non-hypertensives (Sesso et al., 2003; Sesso et al., 2007; Mattace-Raso et al., 2010).
