The anti-inflammatory effects of curcumin in DM were reported via decreased interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and tumor necrosis factor-α levels and also diminished monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 and C-reactive protein levels (19–21). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and diabetes mellitus.
