These coding region SNPs at the TAP1 and TAP2 genes have been associated with rheumatoid arthritis (Zhang et al., 2002), systemic lupus erythematosus (Correa et al., 2003), esophageal cancer (Zou et al., 2015; Guo et al., 2016), multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (Ozbas-Gerceker et al., 2013), and tuberculosis (Sunder et al., 2011; Thu et al., 2016). The gene discussed is TAP2; the disease is esophageal cancer.
