This association between the albumin-corrected calcium level and 30-day in-hospital mortality persisted despite adjustment for age, gender, BMI, and ethnicity (OR = 1.3, 95% CI 1.3–1.4, P < 0.001) (model I) or the inclusion of the above-mentioned baseline characteristics and cardiac arrest, gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetes mellitus, cancer, lactic acid, ALT, and serum albumin (model II) (OR = 1.1, 95%CI 1.0–1.1, P = 0.004). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and cardiac arrest.
