IFNG and acute myeloid leukemia: AML BM samples had two types of immune microenvironments, one type was an immune-enriched and IFN-γ dominant type, which had elevated expression of lymphocyte-associated genes, IFN-γ, and immune checkpoint molecules; the other type was an immune-depleted type, which had low expression of T-cell and B-cell genes, while had elevated expression of mast cell function– and T-cell exhaustion–associated genes (38, 39).
