EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Osimertinib, the first third-generation irreversible EGFR TKI, significantly improved the PFS and OS versus first-generation EGFR TKIs gefitinib or erlotinib in patients with EGFR mutation-positive NSCLC and had been sequentially approved by both FDA on April 18, 2018, and NMPA on August 31, 2019, as the first-line treatment [21–23].
