CD47 and neuroblastoma: Studies from anti-GD-2 therapy in neuroblastoma models showed significant synergy of anti-GD2 and anti-CD47 antibodies treatment, and anti-GD2 blocks the interaction of GD2 with its ligand Siglec-7, an inhibitory immune receptor expressed on human macrophages and NK cells, which then primes neuroblastoma cells for removal by the immune system [36].
