Our results are in line with previous reports, which showed that CAT significantly reduced the expression of cleaved caspase-3 in a mouse model of myocardial reperfusion injury [20], as well as other apoptotic markers, including Bax and BCL-2, in murine models of diabetic nephropathy and diabetes mellitus-induced male reproductive damage [21,24]. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
