[51] studied 45 patients with head and neck cancer who were undergoing systemic treatment; in that study, 26 patients with SPA < −1.65 had decreased levels of BMI (p = 0.04) and increased levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) (p = 0.04) and serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) (p = 0.007).
