Wang et al. [34], compared RCC tumor tissue with NAT and found a higher expression of proteins related to cell adhesion in the tumor tissue; and a group of these proteins that were associated with a worse prognosis and higher risk of progression such as CD44, CD86, Fibronectin 1 (FN1), Integrin Subunit Alpha M (ITGAM), and Integrin Subunit Beta 2 (ITGB2). This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and renal cell carcinoma.
