Defective FAT/CD36 protein has been related to several health problems as obesity, intestinal fat malabsorption, kidney disease, lipotoxic cardiomyopathy, impaired fatty acid metabolism, glucose intolerance, atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, diabetes, cardiomyopathy, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis [41,42,65]. This evidence concerns the gene CD36 and kidney disorder.
