KCNN4 and melanoma: In IGR39 cells, a primary melanoma cell line (IGR39), Ferrera and collaborators demonstrated that an increase in oxidative stress following exposure to Chl-T stimulated the activation of two different Ca2+-dependent K+ channels: the large-conductance voltage-dependent BK channel encoded by KCNMA1, and the medium-conductance voltage-independent KCa3.1 channel encoded by KCNN4.
