REN and myocardial infarction: The top pathways were (i) the P2Y purigenic receptor signaling pathway (8 out of 125 pathway genes), (ii) the GNRH signaling pathway (8 out of 135 pathway genes) and (iii) the renin–angiotensin signaling pathway (7 out of 113 pathway genes), indicating the important role of G protein signaling in the pathophysiology of MI.
