Several mutations in STIM1 or Orai1 have been associated with cancers such as colorectal tumor (Orai1 A137V) [283], stomach carcinoma (Orai1 M139V) [288], uterine carcinoma (Orai1 S159L) [289], glioblastoma (Orai1 G183D, STIM1 S116N) [290], neck carcinoma (Orai1 G247S) [291], lung adenocarcinoma (STIM1 A79T, E87Q, W350L, G446C/V) [144], and skin melanoma (STIM1 T517I, S521L) [292] (Figure 5). This evidence concerns the gene STIM1 and lung adenocarcinoma.
