Prolonged exposure of GCs derived from polycystic ovaries to high levels of AMH has been revealed to affect the expression patterns of aromatase and FSHR and disrupt SMAD signaling by increasing the level of I-SMAD-6, -7, and diminishing activation of SMAD-1/5/8 and co-SMAD-4 [120]. The gene discussed is FSHR; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
