Among individuals with established AP, inflammatory biomarkers, namely C-reactive protein (CRP), serum procalcitonin (PCT), and serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), may help in the early diagnosis of pancreatic necrosis (PN) because radiological findings can take several days or weeks to establish [23,24,25,26].
