IFN-γ and TNF-α are strongly associated with aCD8+ T cells [7, 12], patients with SS had high levels of IFN-γ in serum [13] and T cells in labial salivary glands (LSGs) contained mRNA for IFN-γ [14], but its correlation with blood aCD8+ T cells in pSS has not been investigated to the best of our knowledge, so we also determined the serum levels of IFN-γ and TNF-α in these patients and examined its associations with aCD8+ T cells and multiple disease parameters.
