MCL1 and plasma cell myeloma: In the case of MCL-1 with L267V mutation detected in myeloma patients, the mutation does not interfere with binding of MCL-1 inhibitors such as S63845 and AZD-5991 to MCL-1, rather it prevents displacement of pro-apoptotic proteins by the drug, resulting in disruption of the process of apoptosis (Chen et al. 2018).
