The World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System, fifth edition (WHO CNS5 classification; CNS5) states that an IDH-wildtype diffuse astrocytic glioma in an adult with microvascular proliferation or necrosis or EGFR gene amplification or + 7/− 10 chromosome copy number changes or TERT promoter mutation should be diagnosed as GBM (CNS5), even if the histological grade was considered low [1].
