We also studied the impact of frailty status (frail vs non‐frail), age (≤ 70 years vs > 70 years), gender (male vs female), hypoalbuminemia (no vs yes), INTERMACS profile score, device type (HM III vs HVAD), total serum protein level (< 6 vs ≥ 6 g/dl), type of cardiomyopathy (non‐ischemic vs ischemic), pre‐operative CKD (yes vs no), and prealbumin (< 18 vs ≥ 18 mg/dl), and time to extubation (days) on post‐intervention mortality using Cox regression.
