Indeed, a quantitative global proteomic study reveals 161 differentially expressed lysine succinylation sites in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tissues and significant alterations on the succinylation levels of phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) and PKM2, suggesting the importance of lysine succinylation in energy metabolism and the driving role of glycolysis in RCC progression (55). Here, PKM is linked to renal cell carcinoma.
