DDIT4 and breast cancer: DDIT4 can act as a tumor suppressor in colorectal cancer (Wang et al., 2015), breast cancer (Horak et al., 2010), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC; Jin et al., 2011) by inhibiting mTORC1, and can also play a pro-cancer role in ovarian cancer (Chang et al., 2018), bladder urothelial carcinoma (Zeng et al., 2018) and gastric cancer (Du et al., 2018) by reducing apoptosis.
