Indeed, early clinical trials of CAR-T cells directed to interleukin-13 receptor alpha 2 (IL13Rα2), epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), have generated promising results against brain tumors including GBM.10–14 In addition, CAR-T cells targeting B7-H3 have been developed for GBM,4,5,15 pediatric brain tumors,16 and skull base chordoma.17 However, CAR-T cell therapy is more effective against hematological cancers than against GBM. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is glioblastoma.
