In a phase III trial, binimetinib (a selective MEK1/2 inhibitor) has shown improved progression-free survival (PFS) compared with dacarbazine in patients with NRAS-mutated melanoma, which is a promising treatment option for advanced melanoma; however, the main regulatory authorities have not approved the treatment, despite the positive results of the NEMO clinical trial, in view of the cost–benefit ratio [13].
