The CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technique (where CRISPR denotes clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats and Cas9 denotes CRISPR-associated protein 9) was used to further elucidate the role of cdkn1a in zebrafish osteoporosis, and the results identified cdkn1a as an early-signaling indicator of the onset of osteoporosis. Here, CDKN1A is linked to osteoporosis.
