In context to frequent deletion or loss of function mutations in TP53 and RB1 [7, 8], and consistent with a recent report that shows a crucial role of FOXM1 using Rb1fl/fl; Trp53fl/fl; Lox-Stop-Lox [LSL]-MycT58A (RPM) models and patient samples in SCLC tumorigenesis and poor clinical prognosis [42], our work builds an agreement that miR-1 mediated downregulation of CXCR4/FOXM1 axis could be a major event regulating SCLC growth and metastasis. This evidence concerns the gene RB1 and small cell lung carcinoma.
