CRP and susceptibility to pneumonia measurement: Jacobs et al. have reported that markers including salivary CRP may be indicative in the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB), with a decent sensitivity of 78.1% and specificity of 83.3%.187 The salivary CRP level was reported much higher in patients (aged 2 to 17 years) with pneumonia than in healthy children (P < 0.001).
