This hypothesis is further supported by the results of CDH1 and CDH2 expression in BlCa tissues and its significant, although weak, correlation with VIM transcript levels, which disclosed CDH1 downregulation and CDH2 and VIM upregulation in MIBC compared to NMIBC, a pattern which is consistent with ongoing EMT in invasive urothelial cells. Here, VIM is linked to bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
