In the past decades, immune checkpoint inhibitors and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR)-targeting tyrosine kinase inhibitors have shown efficacy in the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (25), and population-based surveillance data indicated that the 5-year relative survival rate of kidney cancer in China has been improved from 62.0% in 2003–2005 to 69.8% in 2012–2015 (9). Here, KDR is linked to kidney cancer.
