CRP and rheumatoid arthritis: On the one hand, the interaction of CRP with Fcγ receptor I and FcγRIIA promotes the production of proinflammatory cytokines, leading to an amplification loop of the inflammatory response; on the other hand, CRP initiates bone destruction by inducing the receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand protein and directly stimulating osteoclast generation, thus causing a vicious cycle between inflammation and bone destruction in RA (41).
