INS and Insulin resistance: In an in vitro study of HEPG2 cells induced by sodium palmitate to develop insulin resistance, experiments found that insulin sensitivity was significantly enhanced after knockdown of PRDX1 expression by siRNA, while insulin sensitivity of the cells was significantly reduced when PRDX1 was overexpressed, and they found that P38MAPK expression was significantly enhanced in cells induced under these conditions, so it can be tentatively concluded that PRDX1 can induce IR (82).
