We found that IC score was associated with age, female sex, hypertension and obesity status, and a higher IC impairment score was associated with higher BMI, HbA1c, fasting glucose, UACR, creatinine levels, and the use of insulin and angiotensin receptor blockers, and lower eGFR and hemoglobin levels than those with an IC score of 0 or 1 (Table 1). Here, INS is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
