The cardiac troponin I and T (cTnI and cTnT, respectively) when targeted by high‐sensitivity assays have an important role in the early and accurate identification of acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction.[60, 114] These cardiac biomarkers have been detected at a few picograms per milliliter (pg mL−1) concentrations in saliva from healthy subjects and tens to hundreds of pg mL−1 in samples from diagnosed patients.
