NLRP3 and coronary artery disorder: Transcriptionally, a NLRP3 genetic variant (rs10754555) affecting its NLRP3 mRNA levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) was recently reported to associate with NLRP3 inflammasome activation and increased systemic inflammation, CAD, and mortality in subjects below 60 years, the latter particularly in individuals with increased plasma levels of triglycerides [12].
