We found that H. leucospilota-derived decanoic acid activated DAF-16 transcription factor which upregulated its target genes including the anti-oxidants genes (such as sod-3) and the small heat shock proteins (such as hsp16.1, hsp16.2, and hsp12.6) to enhance oxidative stress and proteotoxic stress resistances in C. elegans PD models. Here, SOD3 is linked to Parkinson disease.
