SLC2A1 and ischemia: In our previous (chronic) ischemia model, significant increase in the SLC2A1 expression was observed after hypoxia [12, 20], which could indicate that the hiPSC-CMs tried to enhance the anaerobic glycolytic metabolism by enhancing glucose uptake; however, no similar increase was observed in the present study, possibly due to significantly shorter duration of the hypoxia.
