Our findings demonstrated that Wee1 was able to influence the overall DSB repair capabilities in CML cells, implying that this kinase may take a part in causing fusion gene bcr-abl alterations and making CML cells resistant to TKIs. However, more evidence of the relationship between DNA damage repair and tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance is needed. The gene discussed is WEE1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
