By preventing methylation of the Keap1 gene promoter area, genistein selectively reduced radio sensitizing effects in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) A549 cells; hypermethylation of the Keap1 promoter resulted in chemo/radio resistance mediated by the Nrf2-Keap1 pathway [30]. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
