The LC3-associated phagocytosis results in the production of high levels of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 10 (CXCL10), chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interferon gamma (IFN-γ)) known to be involved in the pathogenesis of CM (26, 27).
