Aberrant expression of HMGB3 is closely associated with the development of many tumors; HMGB3 is highly expressed in various cancers [including breast cancer (35), gastric cancer (36), nasopharyngeal carcinoma (37), and esophageal cancer (38)] and is associated with the incidence of advanced tumors and a low survival rate of these patients. This evidence concerns the gene HMGB3 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
