Although SCNN1B forms a part of the sodium channel ENaC (Figure S3), we found that SCNN1B overexpression had no consistent effect on other ENaC subunits (Figure S3), nor on the sodium content of CRC cells (Figure S4), suggesting that the tumor suppressor function of SCNN1B is independent of its role in ENaC. This evidence concerns the gene SCNN1B and colorectal carcinoma.
