Moreover, some hematological and biochemical markers, including white blood cell (WBC), lymphopenia, platelet, C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), creatine kinase (CK), d-dimer, creatinine, and troponin, are used as prognostic markers in COVID-19 and increased circulatory levels of these markers and indicators have already been linked to disease severity [1–4].
