A NE of Carum carvi EO exhibited apoptotic and cytotoxic effects on colon cancer cells (HT-29); it reduced more effectively the viability of HT-29 cancer cells (IC50: 12.5 μg/mL) compared to HUVEC normal cells (50 μg/mL), considerably upregulated caspase-3 gene expression, and did not show undesirable side effects. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is cancer.
